A reasonable option at Waikoloa King and Queens
While the best bet for casual, quick, and cheap dining is, or was, the food court at the King and Queen shops at Waikoloa. The dining environment is also like a food court. A-Bay’s provides a middle ground between the very expensive and the cheap restaurants at Waikoloa. The other options are driving into Kona or to the Mauna Lani (or even Waimea). Benefiting the experience is that A-Bay’s is mostly outdoor seating and has a nice patio.
The menu options are mostly quick and casual fare. The best options are definitely the fish tacos and the appetizers. The draft beer list is another reason to come and this is a local spot to watch sports. A wide variety, about 20, of local craft beers are on tap (Maui, Kona, Aloha, Big Island, Ola) along with a few typical Bud-illers.
